Amodeo Explores Ways to Make N.J. Economy Soar
| March 18, 2010 Every morning, New Jersey Democrats wake up, put on their pants, and contemplate new ways to squeeze money out of New Jersey taxpayers and businesses... all over a bagel and cup of coffee.
Then there's Republican legislators like my good friend John Amodeo (R-Atlantic) who, by contrast, work hard every day to improve this state's business climate. What a concept! John's latest idea, developed in collaboration with his district mate Vince Polistina, is to adopt a series of measures designed to incentivize aviation innovation and aviation industry-related growth in the greater Atlantic City region. The pair first promulgated this novel economic development strategy back in September.
We're all well-acquainted with the plight of the casino industry which currently dominates the region's job market. Diversifying the A.C. economy could go a long way towards ameliorating the Southern Shore's double-digit unemployment rate.
