Throwing Money at the Problem

 | March 11, 2010

I support paying healthy salaries to our state's teachers, Save Jerseyans. You need to compensate employees properly to attract the best people (problems with the health and pension benefits system is an entirely different story). Never begrudge someone the money they're worth. It's called the "free market" and it works, even though most NJEA loyalists don't believe in its value. But I digress.

The real issue, of course, is how anyone can defend a system where $300,000 to $400,000 is spent per classroom but only 10 cents on every tax dollar ultimately finds its way into teachers' paychecks.

Hat tip to Save Jerseyan Mike P. for pointing out this instructive clip from The CartelForward it to a teacher you know, folks. They need to know who is really on their side!
