Snow Removal Costs Millions Across New Jersey
| February 5, 2010
Across South Jersey, small towns are feeling the same pinch. December's two foot snowfall cleaned out budgets in places like Evesham and Deptford Townships. It cost Deptford about $80,000. A typical winter here might only cost $20,000.
"We're fighting every penny. Every penny," said Deptford Mayor Paul Medany. "We've still got the rest of February and March, so we're holding our breath for rain."
With a budget already squeezed by the sluggish economy, Deptford has stopped filling open positions to save money. The township has lost 17 employees out of about 100. With very few options for further cuts and state aid being trimmed, Medany says officials might have no choice but to raise taxes if the snow continues.
"When we were kids, we loved to play in the snow," he said. "Now, it costs money."

Maybe if those trough swilling pigs, namely the all Democrat Deptford Council and Mayor wouldn't take medical benefits for themselves for the part time work they do then maybe there would be some money left over for snow removal.

Gloucester County is a mess. Sweeney is a crook. Unfortunately, Oglesby was incompetent and the new crew (Bill Fey, Dave Ferrucci, Jeff Morris & co) have raised less money than that orange haired trailer park trash before them.
Want to beat corruption in Gloucester? Move to Atlantic County. It's hopeless!

Dear Hopeless,
I don't know what standard you are judging these folks by but they've been there about 7 months so i wouldn't trash their fund raising just yet. They took back 8 Dem seats in the local races, came within 1700 votes of a freeholder seat, the best showing in 10 years. They won an assembly seat, the only one to flip in the entire state and oh yes Christie won Gloucester County, the first Republican in 28 years. All of that can't ALL be luck or top of the ticket coattails my friend. Watch and learn.
