Bob Yudin did an admirable job in Bergen, but this is one is a no brainer, it's Joe Leo all the way. Republicans simply don't win Middlesex and he delivered it big time.
He'll easily beat back Michael Illions to remain chairman and keep him relegated to his little freedom toast rallies at the Omega Diner.

On most posts you are right on point. On this...not so much.
Having folks like Gilmore and Florio on your poll are of course no brainers, these guys are the best. But answer me this. How do you do a Best GOP Chairman of Election 09 poll and leave out the chairman of a county that turned over to the GOP the only Assembly seat in the state, won his county for CJC surprising EVERYONE and picked up a bushel of local seats to boot? I'm talking about Gloucester County and BILL FEY! The best chairman, come'on he's brand new, that's not the point, but not on the list? Wake up Matt finals are over, this isn't the Gloucester county of old. Have you heard Mike Angelini might go to jail? Its on all the political web sites, well almost all.

Fey was out of the state half the time or on his boat. He had nothing to do with what happened in his county. Everybody on the ground and at Christie HQ knew Randy Ford was the main reason why Christie and Dicicco won.
Also not sure how you give someone credit for his counterpart being a crook and possibly going to jail..

Lets agree on this. Randy Ford is the best, no one worked harder. He deserves all the credit in the world. The survey was about "Best Chairman" if there was a category that included Ford he'd have my vote and I'm certain Fey would agree. However it didn't and Fey was a glaring omission and by implication Ford because he's part of Fey's team. Regarding Mike A. being a crook, it was not my intent to give Fey credit, only to poke Matt a little (in fun, of course) for not covering the story. I guess you missed the nuance.

The South Jersey chairmen SUCK except for maybe Davis. Layton is arguable. I don't even think Bob Greco should on Matt's list. Regarding Fey, he's raised less money than that red haired clown Oglesby so far!
Christie won Gloucester in spite of the current leadership.

How can anyone win BUT Gilmore? He gave Chris Christie a winning margin. Also took control of just about every Ocean seat that wasn't already Republican. Gilmore wins on every measure.
