Quote of the Week: "Bold and Unpopular Actions"

Matt Rooney | November 20, 2009

"Bold and unpopular actions are the only way -- the only way -- to deal with these issues."

- Outgoing Governor Jon Corzine, at the League of Municipalities conference (The Star-Ledger)

Where was this "cut waste," "let's make the hard decisions" attitude for the past four years, Mr. Corzine??? New Jersey's taxpayers might've re-elected you, had they not witnessed habitual political genuflection before labor unions, party bosses and special interests during your disastrous tenure.

And don't tell me to "move on," Save Jerseyans. I have, and so did this state's voters by a roughly 5-point margin. But it's incredibly important for all New Jerseyans to remember, in November 2010, 2011 and beyond, exactly WHY our state is in the horrendous condition that we now find ourselves. It wasn't "national factors" or simple "bad luck;" our desperate situation is largely the result of failed liberal, big government policies that Jon Corzine championed but should NEVER be repeated again!

I believe that when Corzine said "bold and unpopular" he meant "monetizing the turnpike, parkway and interstates" which are both reckless AND unpopular ideas. He has not changed his message at all.

CONSOLIDATION & CUTTING NUMBER OF GOV IS ONLY ANSWER FOR NJ PROBLEMS
It is a known fact that NJ is governed by MAFIA posing as Politicians & Attorneys in the name of Home Rule. I am a resident of 1 such Town Springfield where jobs are created for idiots for political reasons with a contract that they can not be fired for 3 years for Political reasons. Town attorney makes over $150,000.00 a year for attending council meetings in which he can be seen dozing off or pulling his hairs or biting his nails because he is least interested in what the Scoundrels are doing with fancy titles Mayors & Councilman or Councilwoman.
8,000 sq. miles New Jersey with 588 governments for 8.5 million residents with a budget of $35 billion for the State & 38 Billion for 587 Local Governments and has a debt of $140 billion including unfunded liabilities like pension, medical & transport fund. Over 9,000 Elected officials, 400,000 State & Municipal Employees. Property taxes 58% higher than National average, collection in 2006 over $19 billion. Against National average $8,000 NJ Cost to educate a student $18,000 & $29,000 in Abbott Districts still 250,000 students can not comprehend in basic education. Surprisingly all the Abbott Districts are controlled by Democrats and they also receive substantial Federal Aid besides large State Aid and largest unreported income from Crime in towns like Newark, Patterson, Jersey City etc all under Democrats. There is no match to NJ in the entire world. It is legally corrupt & racist despite 80,000 attorneys of New Jersey!
The fact is New Jersey has too much Government which the residents can not afford to pay for. WHY NOT 13 LOCAL GOVERNMENTS BASED ON 13 CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICTS OR AT THE MOST 40 LOCAL GOVERNMENTS BASED ON 40 STATE SENATE DISTRICTS.

Poster boy of Corruption for American Media; Indian Capital Delhi for 14 Million residents has only 374 Elected Officials, 1 Police Chief/Commissioner and less than 200,000 employees as compared to 9,000 Elected Officials, almost 600 Police Chiefs and over 400,000 employees in New Jersey for 8.5 Million residents. Capital Delhi for 3,035 Schools has 1 Education Director for over 2.4 million students as compared to 651 School Superintendents with fully staffed offices for 2,419 Schools for 1.4 million students.
Pre Independence India in 12.6 Million Sq Miles under British Rule used to have 600 Princely Kingdoms for 450 million residents. New Jersey in 8,000 Sq Miles has 566 Racially Segregated Princely Kingdoms for 8.5 subjects governed by those who are worst than Britishers rather New Jersey Rulers are worst than any Murderer Dictator around the world who is more concerned about the luxuries for them selves & their cronies rather than good governance to take care of the basic needs of the public in a more efficient and cost effective manners.
REPUBLICANS & DEMOCRATS DOES NOT WANT TO SPEAK THE TRUTH THAT NEW JERSEYAN’S CAN NOT AFFORD TO PAY FOR; over 9,000 ELECTED OFFICIALS, 400,000
