The mainstream media is (finally) beginning to call Chris Daggett's bluff.
From PolitickerNJ:
Christie campaign? Republican establishment? Please! Save Jersey single-handedly outed Daggett as a fraud, a formerly lonely effort which we undertook back during the summer months (click here). A few months later, with the election just days away, the mainstream media types (many of whom read this blog but may or may not admit it) finally decided to report on the possibility of Daggett as a stalking horse for the Corzine campaign. Duh!"Since his independent campaign went from being a curiosity to a legitimate factor in race for governor, Christopher Daggett has been dogged by the rumor that he is a stalking horse for Gov. Corzine – a willing accomplice to help an unpopular governor win reelection by sapping the anti-incumbent vote from Republican Chris Christie.
Former Republican Gov. Christie Whitman even seemed to lend the theory credence when she told Fox Business News that the Corzine camp was “urging people, quietly, to support Chris Daggett because, by doing that, they figure they'll split the independent vote.”
Daggett suspects the conspiracy theory is peddled by the Christie campaign and the Republican establishment, which have spent the last several weeks criticizing Daggett in advertisements and campaign rhetoric."

If Christie loses, he can only blame himself and the inept Republican campaign, not Daggett or any other Corzine moves. He was up by 10 - 15 % at the beginning of July and his campaign squanders his lead. There are plenty of people who don't want Corzine, but are not convinced that Christie is significantly better.

This rhetoric is why the republicans are loosing their base and where they came from. How arrogant can you be.
PEM59 is completely right, Not too many people want Corzine and Christie isn't much better. He did this to himself.
And your lies have been debunked. You just don't "debate" the facts when people post them, because you can't retaliate the truth with more lies and still expect people to follow you.

Debate? You can't defend against the only point that matters....
1) Corzine raised taxes
2) Daggett is proposing new sales, gas taxes and highway tolls... just like Corzine in 2005
3) Christie promises to cut taxes/shrink government
The first two options give voters more of the same: politicians content to shift the burden around. It's a shell game and the taxpayers end up paying for it.
The third option is the only option! Vote Christie!

You really don't read. Daggett is not proposing new Gas tax and highway tolls. He may use it as last option, but he atleast addresses that our Transportation Trust Fund is Bankrupt. What has Christie said about this? Christie doesn't. and does not address any monetary effect to his plan, because he hasn't tried to work out any numbers, except on the only real plan out there. Which is why Voters don't find confidence in Christie. And you yourself can't even answer how much will we save with Christie?
Part 2, You don't even acknowledge half of Daggett's plan's with TAX CUTS. Cutting Income, property and businesses taxes. This is why your arrogance gets in the way of politics and the actual issues at hand. You planning on only seeing half the story all the time? your going to miss out on a lot of good parts... Like where CHristie was given the US attorney position by Bush because of a political favor in 2000. That's who i want for my next governor, someone who does favor's for others... especially the special interest groups, like the Insurance companies who paid Christie.
Part 3. Christie said in East Windsor, NJ that he can't make any cuts, and won't do any cutting til after the recession. How confident can he be, when he's mirroring Corzine's recovery plan. Which Christie himself has said. "He says he will put plans for sweeping tax cuts and spending increases on hold until the economy begins to recover. And he is embracing most of the governor’s plan to close the state’s enormous budget gap." http://blog.nj.com/njv_tom_moran/2009/10/moran_chris_christie_revamps_h.html
Christie drew back his promises and gives the generic speech. You haven't heard this before? like... Bush Sr... I promise no new taxes...?
Dont make promises you can't keep. Like Christie said he wish he didn't have to go negative, and yet he still does... He's a complete Hypocrite.
So your point on Christie promising to cut spending and lower taxes, meanwhile he hasn't even looked at the 2010 Budget which is there... He doesn't have any real plans. And won't entice any businesses during the recession, to actually help bring us out of recession.

1) You say "Daggett is not proposing new Gas tax and highway tolls. He may use it as last option..."
Last option? This isn't a revenue problem... we have a "tax and spend" problem. I don't care about what Trenton needs to operate. Government should sacrifice before taxpayers are asked to pay more! There are state government departments and programs that need to be axed before a single new tax is levied on the people of New Jersey.
2) A tax hike is a tax hike. Raising sales taxes, gas taxes and highway tolls to pay for the PROMISE of a possible property tax cut is not real relief, kiddo. Corzine proposed the same scheme in 2005. Taxes and tolls went up but Trenton never delivered on tax relief.
The ONLY way to change Trenton is to shrink the size and scope of state government and, in doing so, reduce its appetite for our hard-earned tax dollars.
Daggett doesn't get that. Christie does. This is no time for shell games. That's why Daggett will come in under 10% on Election Day and you'll be calling Chris Christie "Mr. Governor-Elect" starting November 4th.

Thank you for responding an defending.
1. Just as you and I have said, it's a last resort, and Daggett is going to make sure, like Christie that there are programs cut, and wasteful spending stops. However, there are certain systems in place that go into specific funds. The transportation trust fund is bankrupt, and needs to continue working for us. So you have to leave options out on the table. If Christie doesn't act quickly, we will have state employee's out of jobs, and our roads and bridges not being attended to. Christie has not addressed any of this, and will let the system crash while trying to make cuts in other areas. Sometimes you need to pay a little more for a time to ensure the safety of our roads are improving and not crumbling. But of course you try and make sure that you are not putting more of a burden on the tax payer before you actually enact a new tax.
But christie hasn't addressed this part of the budget at all, which does require more attention.
2. A tax hike is a tax hike, but if you fail to see the tax cuts, then like I said you are not addressing the full plan, and you are missing out. Daggett wants to make sure people have enough money for their groceries and cut the property tax. Christie still will continue to keep us in the status quo during the recession. As stated before, how many maids do you have to now tax MAtt? how much do you pay for your hair cut? $15 and now it will be $16.05... this tax expansion, is towards the wealthy and is after the tax cuts, which will HELP the middle and lower class in NJ. Christie will let us suffer and will not entice businesses DURING the recession, when we actually do need change during the recession to pull us out.
You need to look at Daggett's new Ad. It talks about being fiscally responsible. While Christie's plan does seem fiscally responsible, it continues on the coat tails of Corzine's plan. How can you support that thinking?
