Frank Luna is Leading the NJGOP Netroots Revolution

Our good friend Frank Luna, who doubles as OCGOP political director and unofficial dean of "The NJGOP Under 30 Caucus", had a great write-up in this Sunday's Asbury Park Press.






Although I'd never admit it to my friend Frank's face, Mr. Luna is an exceptionally talented political strategist who recognizes that the Internet's application to politics expands well-beyond small donor fundraising. Social networking tools including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and blogs like Save Jersey are gradually rendering older mediums like robocalls and mailers virtually obsolete. Who doesn't check their email or Facebook at least once a day in the year 2009? Thanks to guys like Frank, the New Jersey Republican Party will be there every time the voters do.


Since Frank is ahead of the NJGOP curve in the use of this technology, the Asbury Park Press took a trip over to Toms River to pick his brain on the subject:

In Ocean County, politics is all a-Twitter

From his office overlooking Route 37 on the second floor of Ocean County Republican Headquarters, political director Frank Luna can galvanize thousands of the party faithful with just a few keystrokes on his computer.

Thanks to the social networking Web sites like MySpace, Facebook and now Twitter, retail politics on the World Wide Web is like shopping online. Whatever your ideology, whatever your hope or outrage, there is something out there for you and kindred spirits to gloat or commiserate with — in 140 characters or less if using Twitter.
