SOURCE: Jen Beck Out of Consideration for Lt. Governor?

By Zebulon Pike | January 14, 2009
http://www.colorado-for-free.com/FreeBlog/images/pike.jpg A reliable Save Jersey source close to the Chris Christie campaign reports that Jen Beck will NOT be included in a Christie-led gubernatorial ticket.

The image “http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/members/memberphotos/beck.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.  According to this unconfirmed account, key members of the Christie inner-circle have been "turned-off" by Senator Beck's aggressive, early and open push for the Lt. Governor nomination. If true, this would come as welcome news to Kathy Donovan (R-Bergen) and Diane Allen (R-Burlington), both of whom must be considered major contenders at this point in time. The GOP ticket needs female and/or minority representation to win, and the NJGOP leadership bench isn't very deep in the later category.

We'll keep an eye on this angle as the 2009 race unfolds...

Good point. Yet a candidate needs a majority of Republican primary voters, not elected officials and leaders, in order to win the primary.

I've been asking this question for 2 years now...please name me one bill that Beck has had passed in either the Assembly or the Senate. Not a bill that she tags along on, but one she offered. No one has answered that question. The only thing that Beck has done is run for office, and once in, she just bitches about everything to get her name in the papers. She's one of the least effective legislators that our district has had the misfortune to have.

    Rick,
Senator Beck has proposed numerous pieces of legislation that would greatly improve New Jersey and your district. For instance S1016, S2235, S2456, S2457, SCR96, SCR131, etc.

We've had this argument before..actually. You don't seem to understand or comprehend the legislative process in this state.

In order for a bill to be posted, a committee needs to pass it. Democrats, in the majority 23-17, control every single committee and post whatever bills they want. There is scant bi-partisanship, if any.

In other words, go complain to the Dems who control the committee's. It's out of Beck's hands as soon as she proposes these bills, and some of them do have bi-partisan support. Also, Senator Codey controls every bill posted for a vote on the floor, and we all know his love for Senator Beck after he lost $4 million in trying to defeat her.

I absolutely understand the process Eric, and its insulting that you would even say that. But feel free to try and show just how savvy you are in the ways of Trenton. I understand you must do that for your ego to sustain itself.

So, I take that as you can't think of one bill she's had passed either. Then let me ask you this son, what makes anyone think that she would be a good Lt. Governor since she's done nothing in her career except get elected? Again, she's done nothing.

    Hey Ricky........what are you smoking?

You have actually spent two years wondering what Jennifer Beck passed?

Are you that stupid or are you just ignorantly arrogant.

If you want just one piece of legislation let us go to her most recent one.

On Monday, December 15th, the New Jersey state senate unanimously passed S1106 which was legislation that Senator Jennifer Beck was a primary sponsor and author of.

The measure broadens protections for victims of stalkers.

As result of the senator’s efforts, anti stalking laws will now include penalties for conduct that causes a person to fear for their safety or the safety of a third person or causes a targeted to suffer emotional distress.

Senator Beck saw an obvious need for the change in law in order to keep anti stalking measures effective enough to deal with technology which allows for stalking to be conducted through electronic means such as GPS. This gives stalkers the opportunity to intimidate without being physically present.

The new language helps to apply anti stalking laws to the abusive use of technology for such means.

Penalties for such a crime are now guilty of a crime of the fourth degree punishable with a term of imprisonment not to exceed 18 months, a maximum fine of $10,000 or both. Violator’s who commit a second or subsequent offense are guilty of a crime of the third degree punishable my a maximum term of imprisonment of five years, a fine of $15,000 or both.

Now that you know the answer to your question, what new great mystery will you ponder over for years to come?

If you have a problem with Senator Beck, fine....list your gripe, but make sure it is legitimate. Rather than going around and breaking one of Ronald Reagans political commandments while lying about Beck, perhaps you should promote Republicans that you support instead of trying to tear down Republicans you envy.

As for the article in question, if sources story is true, they were not wise or politically savvy to let it be known. Why would any candidate want to tick off supporters? In addition to that, what blatant push has Jennifer Beck made for the job? Aside from stating that she is flattered to be considered, she is "currently focused on" her "legislative district and her responsibility to her constituents in the district"

Although I do not dispute the value of this story or it‘s author, I do dispute the reliability and judgment of the source.

Anthony, Rick's not an R. He's a Dem in Colts Neck I believe. He ran two years back and got his butt kicked in the town, but I give him credit since it's so heavily R. At least he had courage.

But we tend to go back and forth a lot.

Hey Rick, I wasn't insulting you and if you ever met me you'd know I have no ego at all. That's why I'm never running for office..ha. But I think you get it's hard for any R to have a lot of bills passed in the legislature controlled by D's at every level, just like it's hard for a Dem to get elected in Colts Neck.

Well, thank you Tony, finally, she's done something other than run for office! And trust me, I haven't spent two years thinking about Beck, just when her name gets bandied about for some type of post that actually may mean something.

And thanks for the thoughts, but I feel I'm neither stupid nor ignorant. Although, there are many on this site, and others that might not agree with that. As to arrogant, nope, I would have to be a republican for that, and one thing I know for sure...I ain't no republican.

Well then ricky, I guess as a liberal loser in an election you are sore. if you aren't ignoranyt than you are obviously bitter over the fact that the people in Beck's district have the ability to reject the politics of bitterness and envy that you bring to the table while approving the truly effective legislative leadership of Jennifer Beck.

    Don't hate....apprecaite.

Sicky......why would I argue the leadership of Senator beck when the record of her leadership is there and clear for all to see, including the voters of her district.

Aside from legislation that would reform government for the better, improve the environment, protect consumers, benefit taxpayers and improve the business atmosphere in New Jersey, Jen Beck has been a leading force in several areas including the transparency of government, commuter rights, victims rights and anti-corruption measures.

In any event, there is really no point in continuing dialogue with the bitter irrational likes of you. Why would I entertain the slander of a bitter losers who is unable to cope with being rejected by the voters he sort the approval of? You are in total denial and besides, as you previously wrote...you spent two years wondering about something that is obvious, such as Beck's legislation. So I doubt that you will accept any other realities that you need to deny.

On top of that, your charge that I am employed by Beck is as ludicrous as the thought that you have any meaningful ideas to share in politics. The two concepts do not exist but facts mean little to Democrats, but I am sure you will continue with your gibberish..

Your claim that I work for Jen Beck is as true as your statement that she has not passed a “single” piece of legislation but the truth has no bearing on what liars like you throw out.

Bottom line for me is this.........you can continue to try to redeem yourself by tearing down those around you, but all that does is prove that you are no better than the ones you try to tear down. So your empty words will be looked for with blind eyes because you are done.
