The country has fallen on difficult economic times... unless, of course, you're a member of "big academia":
Princeton University's endowment earned a 5.6 percent return for the 12 months ended in June, growing to $16.4 billion from $15.8 billion, said Princeton University Investment Company President Andrew Golden, according to a report in the Daily Princetonian.
The report said since the University closed its books for the past fiscal year, however, the endowment has shrunk as a result of what Golden called "unusually volatile" markets. He declined to give an updated figure.
Here's my economic stimulus plan: Divide Princeton's $16.4 billion endowment among each of New Jersey's 8.5 million residents. That's about $2,000 per individual. Pretty good, huh?
Of course no self-respecting liberal will object to this compassionate plan. Senator Obama has openly endorsed massive wealth distribution, i.e., the government taking hard-earned dollars from your paycheck and giving them to someone in the form of a not-so-hard-earned welfare check. Princeton's success is "unfair." These giant endowments afford Ivy League schools an unjust advantage over other universities. Tax them!

I get that you don't actually believe that Princeton should be taxed and using to show a certain level of hypocracy, however as far as ivy leauges go, Princeton isn't really the problem. It's probably the most conservative of the ivy's and the most dedicated to classical liberalism.
