NJ Town To Be Recognized by National Geographic
In its September 2008 issue, National Geographic will name Avalon, NJ as one of the next fifty great adventure towns in the U.S. Details of why the towns were picked will be listed in full when the magazine hits stands, but here's a general description of their decision:
"[T]his year we selected 50 innovative towns that aren’t just prime relocation spots right now, but smart choices for the future. Not only do they have the action. They’ve got a plan. Now we’re giving you a plan too...[Y]ou’ll find hometown picks that range from adventure 24/7 hubs loaded with outdoor options to urban players that offer a variety of jobs and cultural activities without sacrificing green space."
Cooler by a mile, indeed.
